When You have chosen a boat, not less important is to choose your route. We offer already prepared boat routes for one or more days for rivers Gauja, Salaca and many others. Everything depends on the time you would like to spend on boat trip. Ride Stranči – “Rāmkalni” will last approximately four days if you choose canoe, will be faster, if rubber boat than longer. For its part, boat ride from Sigulda to “Rāmkalni” will last for approximately 4 – 6 hours. Without Strenči you may start your ride in Valmiera, Rāmnieki, Cēsis, Sigulda, Līgatne from crossing our any other suitable place.

All rides, which end at “Rāmkalni” will be cheaper.

You can arrive, leave your personal car at our parking lot and we will carry all your team including all equipment to the place, where are you planning to start your adventure.

ROUTES

River Gauja is one of the most beautiful rivers for boat rides; therefore it is most popular river in Latvia. It starts form the region of Alauksta Lake, it takes her curls trough all Vidzeme, further comes Virieši, Gaujiena, than border of Estonia, than floaters city Strenči, continues to Valmiera, Cēsis, Sigulda, Inčukalns and than ends in the Riga gulf. Total length of 452km and fall of 234m. Gauja, as excellent river for boat trips chooses many adventure seekers with canoes or rubber boats. Most popular section of river is between Valmiera and Inčukalns. River changes with the nature surrounding, In wider legs its peaceful, but besides Līgatne, you have to pay a bit more attention to the river float. Corner after corner low grade changes to higher grown with large pine trees. Large majestic views of river high grades are more like similar to flying. Reflection of sunset or sunrise to the sides of red rocks, fog covered coast…sound of some scared forest duck, beautiful!

Jorney starts at
bridge of Gauja in Valmiera. After 8km we arrive in Gauja National Park territory. There is 23 halts with tent places and fireplace for tourists. There is various maps of surrounding area and places to see at this point of stop and destination to the next stop. Between halt “Sapa” and “Grīviņi” on each coast – Liepas and Sietiņiezis. Next stop – Rauna, after that Kazas iezis and halt “Jānrāmis”. At section between helt “Priedulājs” and “Lenči” you can see eagle cliff called Ērgļu klintis. On the way to Cēsis there is one more helt – “Lenčupe” and the red colored sands.

First camp at this section – „Kvēpene”, after 4km camp „Briedīši” and one after other - Briedīšu, Edernieku and Leimaņu rocks and Ķūķu cliffs with riffles. Few kilometers to camp „Skaļupe”, than follows Spriņģu rock and than crossing Līgatne, which still works.

On this quite short route between camps „Katrīna”, Paslava” and „Brasla” you can see Gūdu cliffs and various rocks – Katrīna, Launag, Elpju All, who loves nature, has a chance to take walk to Līgatne pathways, getting there with our rented bikes. This goes as additional service. On the left calm part of Gauja until the city Sigulda you can stop at camp “Bērzi” and see the
castle of Turaida on the right side. Than you will know that until bridge of Sigulda you have 2km.

Shortest route, but not less enjoyable. After Sigulda you can view beautiful cliffs of Velna ala, than follows, in past century 70 built bridge for pedestrians, it is one of the most beautiful bridges in Latvia. Approximately in the middle of current route, there is camp – “Lielais akmens” This is old rafts man camp. There is various marks which narrates about time when raft mans worked here.

Few corners further – Kaltlapu rock, if there is time and wish you may surely stop and take a walk up, from the rock opens a great view to surroundings. End stop – “Rāmkalni”, by the bridge of Murjāņi, there you will leave boats. Gather forces for home you can in our cosy pub.

For those who want to jump into the boat immediately and indulge into water relaxation. The boats and yourself we will pick up afterwards. This route is a bit wilder, with knocked trees, beaver buildings and much untouched nature. Time after time on this route you can see small islands, closer to
Riga river comes more populated. 6km trough it and stop is bridge Ādaži, after that end point is RigaTallinn Highway Bridge.

SALACA

Salaca is 95 km long, with total fall of 42 m from the Burtnieku Lake. Its name Salaca has derived from many small islands, which shaped from the specifics of river floatation. Many frame coasts, overfalls, but you can find clean and quite places for swimming.

Approximately 10km unhurried floatation of river from the bridges Vecate till Mazsalaca. Only riffle, approximately 2km before Mazsalaca, will shape you up after calm floatation.

This 40km long route many call one of the most impressive and rich routes of Latvian rivers. And it is true, because in this route you will find a lot of beautiful views, various rapids, cliffs and sandy denes.

There is no need to worry, you don’t need any special skills or training, you just have to simple caution. Few titles of landmarks speak by themselves – Engel’s cave, Dream stairs, Devils cave and dwarf pathway. Sounds like a fairy tale… but you are the one participates in there.

 
Salaca route:Staicele - Salacgrīva
 
If closer to sea, the river becomes faster. Riffle after riffle, they are not dangerous just fun. River has quite frame shores. Your attention will be definitely taken by red sands (in length of 500m). Maybe you will be lucky and you will see sunrise on these cliffs.
